Monona is a great place to live, work and visit. Monona is conveniently located within the heart of Madison, WI. Monona hosts four-square miles of residential homes, commercial properties, city buildings, and major green space. Monona is located on the eastern and southern shores of Lake Monona with over four miles of Lake Monona shoreline More than 500 large and small businesses on three major transportation corridors in Monona. There are over 330 acres of park space, from neighborhood and community parks to woodlands and wetlands in Monona. Monona has three public boat launch sites.

With tree-lined streets, over 120 acres of parks, and a lake, the people in Monona love the outdoors. Throughout the year, many community events bring all of Monona, and friends from other communities, outside to celebrate.

Seasonal celebrations include: Memorial Day Parade, the largest and longest-running Memorial Day parade in Wisconsin; the Monona Community Festival and the annual Fall Festival. In winter, the Winnequah Park lagoon offers the perfect atmosphere for ice skating, and skaters can warm up in the shelter house with a steaming cup of hot chocolate. In January, the Candlelit Snowshoe Hike and Bonfire offers another opportunity for families to enjoy the beauty of winter in Wisconsin.

Monona is about 10 minutes east of the State Capitol, 1.25 hours west of Milwaukee, 2.5 hours north of Chicago and 4 hours southeast of Minneapolis/St. Paul.
