Waunakee is nestled in the rolling hills of South Central Wisconsin. It was originally founded as a supply center for the Chicago and Northwestern railroads. Today Waunakee is a hub for three major transportation routes in Dane County. With easy access to Interstate 90, 94, highway 12 and Dane County Airport Waunakee is close to anywhere you need to go. Waunakee’s outstanding schools, excellent parks, friendly neighbors and proactive community leaders are just a few of the reasons why it’s a great place to live.

Waunakee is served by one of the best school districts in Dane County. Recently recognized by Madison magazine as the top suburban school district in Dane County.
Waunakee is known for its outstanding Park system with more than 236 acres of park land divided among 20 different parks. The parks are beautifully maintained with lots of open space, safe equipment and shelter for picnics. The community comes together with great family events like Waunafest. An annual event held in Centennial Park with everything from sporting events to parades and so much more. The new community center also adds to this system by providing recreational and personal enrichment activities. Waunakee is about 10 miles north of the State Capitol, 1. 5 hours west of Milwaukee, 2. 5 hours north of Chicago and 4 hours southeast of Minneapolis/St. Paul.
